Prayer is. . .

...A conversation; not a performance.
...An encounter; not a task to complete.
...An ongoing conversation; not a pre-set appointment.

I thought of these words this morning. I have them posted at my desk as a reminder. At church yesterday, I felt a real conviction regarding my Christian walk. I feel I've grown stagnant--and I want to do something about it. All day, I have been reciting Isaiah 26:3 - "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee."
I pray that I will seek God's Will in all that I do. Some days, I just have to be reminded.

Back to reality...

Well...we're back from our amazing vacation! We had a WONDERFUL time - especially enjoying all of God's creations. The scenery was unbelievable and really put into perspective how great our God is. I took a million pictures, so I'll only share a few:

Only TWO more days!!

Durango, Colorado....Here we come!! Our family is going on a Spring Break trip to the mountains. We have never been to Colorado as a family. I went during my teen years, but none of the kids have been. I can't wait to see all the snow!!! I'm sure I'll have plenty of pictures to share when we return.

In the meantime, here are a couple of pictures of Nick getting a hair cut:

Isn't he just PRECIOUS?!?!?

And--here's a picture of Jake's JV basketball:

Game Day!

My daughter has her FIRST volleyball game tonight! She's so excited...and so am I. I am coaching her team this year, along with her aunt (my ex-sister-in-law). The team is made up of 10 sixth grade girls, most of which have never played. We've only had two practices--and the first one was basically going over season details, etc. Honestly, I'm not sure they even know how to rotate on a volleyball court! Needless to say, tonight will be an adventure. I have stressed to the team parents that this season is going to be F-U-N. I'm going to teach the basics, but I'm not going to go over the top. No suicide drills, drop and roll drills....
I'll let you know how it turns out!

Jake + Coach = Nosebleed!!

Jake had his end-of-year basketball banquet and I had to share this picture...

"So," you ask..."what's so significant about the picture of Jake and his Coach?"
Well...think of it in these terms: Jake is almost 6'5"......

Had you goin' with the title, huh? You probably thought his coach hit him, didn't ya? LOL
